  • SAY is an artisan doughnut & coffee shop that focuses on hand-made, craft doughnuts, specialty coffee and cakes that rotate based on seasonality. We use nothing but the highest quality ingredients and make everything in house! Naturally, we don’t use any artificial ingredients in anything we make. If we wouldn’t serve it to our own family, we definitely wouldn’t serve it to yours! Coffee? Yep! We serve Allpress Coffee and have crafted a coffee menu that pleases all palettes. Lastly, what makes SAY, SAY, is our obsession with customer service. Today’s day and age it’s so easy to get lost in your phone, lost in the madness of the world, so we try to create an environment that is an escape from that hazy life. A place that you know as a customer you’ll receive a positive consistent doughnut and experience each time. This obsession all starts with you.

  • SAY is a fast-paced, team-oriented operation both in the bakery and in customer facing areas. The primary focus of our company’s founders is to lead by example, inspire, effectively and openly communicate and be collaborative with the rest of their team. There’s no “I” @ SAY. There’s nothing that anyone is “too qualified” to do.

    SAY Events and Markets are an extension of our physical and online spaces. Whilst you won’t be based within our bricks and mortar units, the Events and Markets that we attend offer variation and an exciting opportunity to meet lots of new faces and experience other great small businesses/food vendors, all whilst introducing SAY to new customers.

    Ultimately, we’re all working with the same intentions and for the same goal, which is to make SAY not only the most delicious doughnut shop around, but also a benchmark in the food and beverage industry when it comes to experiential. Ambitious? Yes! Impossible? No! We only hire superstars and with a whole bunch of superstars (you included), we’ve got this! Welcome to the team - now let’s get to work and absolutely CRUSH it!

  • Our Event and Marketing Staff are very often the first introduction our customers have to SAY, and therefore is a crucial part of the whole customer experience. Whilst we have our loyal customer base in Bedford, our Events and Markets are often out of town where people have never heard of SAY. It is here that we’re able to make our first impressions and spread the word of our hidden gem even further. Our delicious doughnuts and coffee can speak for themselves, but our team, alongside the product, draw in our customers.

    This position will be responsible for providing effective and personalised experiences for our guests from greeting them, running them through our offerings, receiving their order and carefully packing their products. Event/Market Staff report to the Manager, and will be empowered to make their own decisions that create the best experience for our guests. We encourage all our SAY family to be well-rounded team players, willing to get their hands dirty and do whatever it takes to keep operations running smoothly! No matter what position you start in with us, you will have the opportunity to be cross-trained and move to different positions within our operations.

  • Front of House Hospitality and/or Customer Service experience

    Fun, motivated and reliable individual

    Able to lift & carry up to 20kg - Handy with a drill also a bonus!

    Must be able to work weekends

  • Maintaining professionalism in the workplace. Balancing customer service and great camaraderie overall.

    Set up, maintain and break down the market stall.

    Keeping a welcoming attitude; Assisting customers in a happy, positive, genuine way all of the time to ensure they feel comfortable and informed.

    Learn and maintain knowledge of our changing menu to effectively communicate all ingredients to guests.

    Neatly, and quickly, packing all doughnut orders.

    Checking product quality and FIFO (first in, first out) throughout your shift; identifying and alerting supervisors whenever doughnuts don’t look like they meet our quality standards.

    Operate POS register to complete customer transactions. Ensuring 100% accuracy when using the POS system and handling money.

    Maintain cleanliness and organisation of limited space within your event area.

    Treating your stall as your home. Being able to notice the small details without anyone needing to tell you first.

    Topping up allocated market boxes ready for the next event.

    Removing waste as needed and bringing to bin collection area

    Adhering to all health and safety regulation policies set forth at SAY.

    Maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality. Following the attendance policies set by SAY.

  • Availability to work weekends Sat/Sun between 8:00am - 18:00pm (hours will vary dependent on event)

    Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

    Must be able to stand the majority of the work day and lift up to 20kg

    Access to a vehicle and valid UK Driving Licence
